Thank you for all your images and descriptions. You mentioned you are interested in novels. May I suggest, "Flames," by Robbie Arnott, a Tasmanian writer. It's was his first book. I always look forward to each of his novels as they get published.

I’m so glad you suggested this book, I loved reading Flames and Robbie Arnott is a fabulous Tassie writer. I haven’t read Dusk yet, so I will give that a go. Thank you for your thoughtful suggestion.

Also thank you for your lovely comment here. 🙏

What a lovely - perfect - way to start the year!

Kate, I deeply enjoyed your description of the ride, and the place, and the light, and the delicious freedom of the moment. I hope 2025 is a fabulous year for you and for the whole family - with good health, joy, and the beauty of the natural world.

Also the company of those extraordinarily hilarious birds!!

Best Wishes - Dave and Meg :)

(PS Thanks for the reference to our work!)

Hello again. I don’t know why, but I wondered if Tasmania was at the antipodes of where I live in Western New York. I just looked it up and found that the antipodes of my home is in the Indian Ocean, halfway along a straight line between Tasmania and Madagascar. It was bugging me and now I bet it’s bugging you too!

That's so interesting to think about. I'll need to check this out on a map.

Hi, Kate, it’s good to know that you’re doing the things you love. For this year my wish is that my wife’s health will improve a lot. 2024 was a really tough year for both of us. My wife had a bad fall a few weeks ago and then she had a disc removal and fusion at C3 in her neck. She had a sudden onset of pain, weakness and loss of feeling in her hands and the surgery was her only treatment option. We had to dial emergency twice because she was choking on a pill. She’s never complained, not once, about needing a walker and wheelchair to get around, and she still cooks 2-3 times a week. She often burns herself because the stove top is too high for her wheelchair, but that doesn’t faze her one bit. We have many relatives and friends who are facing the problems of advancing age. We also include you in our thoughts and prayers. Your life sounds amazing, and it’s a joy to read about it and partake of your photos. God bless you and your dear ones. P.S. Your chicks are adorable!
