Kate, I loved this nostalgic dip into the corner shop. Reading this made me think of my own corner shop adventures in my home town over the years!!

Also looking forward to reading your poem soon xx

Thank you Sian, I hope your writing is going well. I saw an amazing circus show a few nights ago and thought of your memoir in progress.

Just lovely Kate! I am so appreciative of our corner store. Two of my children worked there in their teenage years. Community is so important. Glad we still have a sense of that here on our little island of Salt Spring. Blessings to you and yours.

What a beautiful story Kate, I loved reading this. True community connections are easily lost these days (I just did a woolworths online order and then read this - the juxtaposition!!).

Thank you for mentioning me here. I am so glad you're listening to Wisdom and Action.

I absolutely loved Graft, I really hope MM makes the shortlist tomorrow! It was by far my favourite book last year. I haven't heard of Ali Cobby Eckerman, that might be where I dive in. I read a beautiful verse novel by Australian writer Leni Shilton (Walking with Camels) a year or so ago - recommend.

Have a lovey week Kate xx

Thank you Lucinda, and your honesty about online shopping orders made me giggle. Looking forward to hearing the Stella shortlist tomorrow too. I’ll check out the Camels book. 🙏

Haha yes - the realities of this chapter of life. I do get my fruit and veggies from the farmers market or Ceres every week so that’s something!
