It is such a special part of the world, Kate. We walked a stretch of the Larapinta Trail, years ago with our two girls and I loved how rugged it was and yet at the same time somehow delicate. I'm not sure that I'd want to run it though!

It is beautiful here Julia and I agree it is a place of opposites - hot and cold, rugged and delicate, dusty and luscious.

Today we ran from birthday waterhole up Brinkley Bluff and down to Stanley Chasm. A Jurassic like landscape. So many rocks. And bursting with life. Incredible views. It was hot!

Thanks for reading and for your lovely comment!

Dear Kate, what an amazing adventure in a rare special place. Not sure I’d be up for four 10k’s in a row in such rugged (and hot!) country — I’m impressed at your stamina. Thanks for the lovely shout-out and good luck out there. Stay hydrated! 💦🏃‍♀️

How did it go?

Hi Julie, I enjoyed it — the landscape, making friends on the track with other runners, the mindset of pushing yourself — despite the heat and the few times I just wanted to get to the end alive. More trail running adventures ahead I think and a family trip to the red centre of Australia to experience more of this special place.

Thanks for checking in Julie :)
